TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Diver: this program qualifies divers to dive to 45m and to perform required decompression stops.
What do I need to start?
- Advanced Open Water Diver
- Nitrox Diver
- Have a minimum of 50 logged dives
- Be 18 years of age
What will I do?
You will complete the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures theory online using our TDI eLearning, including content on oxygen exposure tracking for technical and accelerated gas switch dives, equipment set up and configuration, physiology and decompression as well as a gas switch decompression dive planning workshop.
You will then move to a suitable confined water site where you will learn the skills required to safely conduct decompression, gas switch dives using a twinset and stage cylinder.
The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures diver program culminates in 6 open water dives, during which you will demonstrate your ability to safely conduct at least four decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters, including a switch to a rich nitrox mix to accelerate your required decompression.
On each of these dives you will carry out the drills which technical diving makes possible, including shut downs which enable you to deal with catastrophic gas loss in a safe manner and end your dive in a controlled manner. In doing so you will be becoming a self sufficient diver able to deal with buddy separation and/or equipment malfunctions.
Completion of the course requires passing the TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures diver exam which is part of the eLearning program.
